PlaceVR Technology Stretches Reach to More People Seeking a Less Stressful Lifestyle

Madelia, Minnesota is using 360-degree video and virtual reality to target professionals and remote workers with its quality of life message. The launch of the video comes at a time when more people desire to resettle in small towns where they can escape the stress and congestion of big city life.

In addition to attracting more remote workers, the Madelia Area Redevelopment Corporation (MARC) also intends to assist local organizations like the hospital and school district to attract job candidates from around the nation.

"There's nothing else like this to give someone a tour of our community without traveling here," said Brent Christensen, President of MARC. This is going to be a tool in our toolbox that is unique and allows us not just to tell, but to show people what it's like here."

Golden Shovel Agency's PlaceVR division produced the Quality of Life video which comes with the ability to hold virtual meetings. The Virtual Meetings App will make it possible to engage with people wherever they are in the world and have conversations that develop relationships and trust.

"What MARC is doing by using 360-degree and VR is that they're taking down the barriers of time and cost that would limit their reach," said Aaron Brossoit, CEO of Golden Shovel Agency. "Because they can meet without traveling, they'll be able to connect with more people and deliver a more compelling message."

MARC is collaborating with Golden Shovel Agency to create a series of three videos that they will use strategically to attract businesses and professionals to their community.
